# Limitguard

**Lead validation for lead generation agencies, sales agents and their clients.**
Check the company behind each lead against the KVK and KBO registers, EU VAT and sanctions lists. Proceed, review or block, with the source on every line.

Limitguard is a lead validation service for lead generation agencies, sales agents and their clients. It checks the company behind each lead against the official business registers (KVK in the Netherlands, KBO in Belgium), EU VAT (VIES), the OFAC, EU and UN sanctions lists and the email domain, and returns proceed, review or block with the source on every line. Developers and AI agents use the same checks over the HTTP API, the MCP server and the A2A service, hosted in the EU, paid per call in USDC or from an API key's prepaid balance.

## Why Limitguard?

A lead is only worth passing on if the company behind it is real and active. Limitguard checks each lead against the official register for its country before you deliver it, and names the source for every check, so you and your client can see why a lead was passed, flagged or blocked.

Check one Dutch or Belgian lead with a single API call:

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST https://api.limitguard.ai/v1/leads/verify \
  -H "X-API-Key: lg_live_..." \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"country": "NL", "company_number": "12345678", "name": "Acme Corp BV", "email": "sales@acme-corp.nl"}'
```

The answer carries a `verdict` (for example `real_active` or `not_found`), a 0-100 `lead_score`, `flags` such as `vat_owner_mismatch` or `disposable_email`, and the `findings` behind them. See the [Lead Verify reference](/api-reference/leads/lead-verify) for every field.

For a company check outside a lead flow, `POST /v1/entity/check` returns a trust score and a recommendation:

```bash theme={null}
curl -X POST https://api.limitguard.ai/v1/entity/check \
  -H "X-API-Key: lg_live_..." \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"entity_name": "Acme Corp BV", "country": "NL", "kvk_number": "12345678"}'
```

```json Response theme={null}
{
  "trust_score": 87,
  "trust_level": "high",
  "cluster": "established_eu_sme",
  "recommendation": "proceed",
  "sources_checked": 3,
  "processing_time_ms": 247
}
```

## How It Works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Send the lead">
    POST the company number or name and the country, plus whatever else the lead holds: VAT number, email, website domain, address or IBAN.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Parallel checks">
    Limitguard queries every source the details allow, in parallel: the business register, VIES, sanctions lists, the email domain and the IBAN.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Get a verdict">
    Lead Verify returns a verdict, a 0-100 lead score and flags. The company check returns a trust score (0-100), a risk level, an entity cluster and a recommendation: **proceed**, **review**, **enhanced due diligence** or **block**. Every check names its source.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Key Features

| Feature | Description |
| - | - |
| **Pay-per-use** | No subscription required. Pay with USDC via x402 protocol. |
| **Sandbox mode** | Test free with realistic mock data. No wallet needed. The sandbox covers entity, risk and KYB checks; Lead Verify needs a live key. |
| **Two quality tiers** | Choose cached or fresh on `/v1/entity/check`: see [Pricing](/pricing#tiered-pricing). |
| **AI agent native** | MCP, A2A, and x402 discovery. Agents find and use Limitguard autonomously. |
| **Hosted in the EU** | API and dashboard in the EU, database in Ireland. The [data processing agreement](https://limitguard.ai/dpa) and its sub-processor list (section 6) are published, with retention periods. Operated by Ambulatio Consulting B.V. (trading as Limitguard) in the Netherlands. |
| **Self-verifying** | Limitguard verifies itself with its own API. Our score is public. |
